Preview // Van Houten / Serial Chiller / The Big Idea & More // Victoria Vaults, Thursday 26th September

If you are lucky enough to be back in the great city of York then get yourself down to the Viccy Vaults on the 26th September for some cheap pints and amazing tunes courtesy of some of York’s finest bands as well as some who are less familiar with our wonky cobbled streets. Headliners Van Houten will bring a sunny psychedelic vibe, with songs full of tasty hooks and warbly guitars. They draw inspiration from 60s and 70s music and have a sound that wouldn’t feel too uncomfortable next to musicians such as Mac Demarco and Babe Rainbow.

But it doesn’t end there, there are some truly high quality supports on offer here. Serial Chiller are coming from Hull to deliver some slick scuzzy garage punk. French psych-rockers The Big Idea will also be joining with no less than seven band members, they released an album in May this year which is really solid so make sure you don’t miss a rare opportunity to see these guys play. We then have York locals Perspex, with their off-kilter post-punky style and finally Trueman, who really shouldn’t be missed for fans of the weirder side of Pulp’s discography.

We love to see great bills in York like this, and even better it’s at the Victoria Vaults which eagle eyed readers will remember from our last launch party.
