Manchester born alt-rock group Spring King, are currently on the road and hitting up the “smallest, sweatiest, most chaotic venues” that they can find. Their 2016 debut album Tell Me If You Like To is set to dominate the set-list, with fans still patiently waiting for a follow up project, although, this 19-show trip across the UK is set to tease the crowd with some new material.
Spring King take their musical influences from a range of punk and rock whilst respecting the history of the genre, citing bands such as Bruce Springsteen, The Beach Boys and The Ramones as inspirations. The band’s up-tempo sound translates perfectly onto a live stage; their self-confessed scrappy and provocative vibe should certainly encourage a high-energy crowd to manifest. With hands-on delivery of their music being a priority – taking pride in the ‘in-house’ nature of its production – Spring King assimilate well with the grittier venues they are set to frequent.
Be sure to catch them at The Crescent, York on 13th February for a chaotic and sweaty night.By Kat Ferris
