Brand-new York-based label Terra Firma bring their opening night to to the wonderfully dingy basement of every ravers favourite York haunt, Mansion Underground. Bringing the diverse sounds of drum & bass all night long with a wonderfully curated line up of drum & bass heavyweights and of course the label bosses. Think everything from jump-up to jungle to neuro to liquid, it’s going to be a fantastic night and something that the York nightlife scene has been craving.

Label bosses and York students, Warren Rousseau (Rous) and Matt Horton (Horton) are the men behind this fresh-faced label. A label “that combines deep and organic sounding music with a focused art style showcasing the Terra Firma sound”. With a string of strong releases from the likes of Outer Mass, Telomic, Radicall & Low:r which has showcased some unique and individual style from within the genre. And now it’s time to unleash their vision in the form of one massive party, pumped out through Mansion’s hefty Funktion One sound-system.

The line-up is just as heavy as the sound system it will be blasted out through. With Leeds heavyweight and Fokuz signee, Loz Contreras gracing the stage with a soulful yet destructive set as the headline act for the evening. With a string of stellar releases on Fokuz alongside long-time collaborator Macca and residencies at staple Leeds nights Overflow and Jungle Jam, as well as support from some of dnb’s biggest names including London Elektricity, Fabio & LTJ Bukem to name a few, he truly his force to be reckoned with and its certainly an honour to have him down in York. Also, to bless your ear-drums will be an earth-shattering back-to-back performance from the mighty Tokalosh & Goku whose varying style will combine for one truly unique and memorable performance. Label bosses Rous & Horton will be bringing you the darker side of dnb, with local man Mascot putting a shift in on the decks and MC Subliminal on the mic as your host for the night.

It’s set to be a great night, one that is carving York a much needed niche. Hopefully this will be the drum & bass night that York has been calling out for. If you want good vibes and heavy beats, get yourself down to Mansion this Saturday for Terra Firma’s opening party.
