With the imminent release of JAWS’ sophomore album Simplicity, excitement is brewing for the record and its accompanying tour. On the 25th of November, they bring their unique brand of psychedelic indie-pop to Headrow House, Leeds.
JAWS have had a meteoric rise to fame over the past four years, having released two EPs, four singles and a fantastic debut album. Garnering support from new music aficionado and BBC Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens and touring with heavyweights such as Swim Deep, Peace and Spector have been just a few highlights of their career so far.
Having had a glimpse of Simplicity via the medium of the singles ‘Just a Boy’, ‘Work It Out’, and ‘Right in Front of Me’, JAWS have clearly matured and really found their way in the ever-confusing musical world. But the Brummie boys have continued to appease their dedicated fans by sticking to their ethos of chorus-laden guitars juxtaposed against front-man Connor Schofield’s signature sullen, Stone Roses-esque vocals.
JAWS have their sights firmly set on indie stardom, and look set to edge their way ever closer with the release of Simplicity on the 4th of November and the commencement of their UK tour. Catch them at Headrow House, Leeds on the 25th November and various other dates around the UK. Tickets are available here.By Fred Stiddard
