It’s been a while since Roundhay Park heard some noise. A decade post Robbie Williams’ tearing up the park’s arena, live music once again promises to return to the 100,000 cap venue in the form of OnRoundhay, a new festival taking place on the 17th of September this year. OnRoundhay brings a pileup of talent to the table, pinpointed in Mancunian Britpop legends James. Coming off the strength of their fourteenth studio album Girl at the End of the World, the 7-piece will roll out tracks from their extensive catalog in a stunning headline set. They’ll be joined by Primal Scream in a continuation of their powerhouse psychedelic tour, and Glastonbury stable-mates Wolf Alice.
Wolf Alice in particular are certain to be an unmissable set – supporting their 2015 record My Love Is Cool, the quartet will continue to make waves with their brand of alt-grunge and breezy vocals. They’re a band with a lot of power to their sound, and are a definite key ingredient in OnRoundhay’s recipe for a killer lineup. It’s looking to be a great show – tickets can be found here, and the festival takes place in Roundhay Park near Leeds on Saturday the 17th of September.By Jowan Mead
