Having just released the ‘Tonight’ EP on the independent record label MadHouse Records, London based duo Voyeur are back and ready to take on the House scene. They burst into view in 2012 with their initial MadTech (Kry Wolf, Waze & Odyssey, Mia Dora) release ‘Blame It on the Youth’ and have since garnered a following from Radio 1 DJs Heidi and Annie Mac, played in the Boiler Room, and alongside ‘The Godfather of House Music’ Frankie Knuckles. They were also named Mixmag’s ‘Stars to Watch’ of 2013. Benson Herbert & Leo Picking, or Voyeur to you and me, have gone on to join the MadHouse team with their own unique style of deep and soulful house, under the wing of New Jersey producer Kerri Chandler. The new EP is a creative mix of organic sounds, analogue bass lines, and soothing jazz and soul-infused deep house. The production is certainly accessible to the casual listener, but is equally bursting with talented production and is far from unimaginative.
At the beginning of June, the duo will be playing the intimate, environmentally sustainable Gottwood festival, alongside a stellar lineup including Ben UFO, Leon VyneHall and Move D, to name but a few. The festival will be returning to their beautiful North Wales woodland venue with the usual blend of quality underground music, strong community vibes, and a ‘no corporate bullshit’ attitude.
