Dimensions Preview 2015

Dimensions Preview 2015

This year Croatia’s most cutting-edge festival returns to Pula, with a line up so diverse and exciting, that the last week of August, which sees Dimensions festival promise four days of underground music and overly beautiful scenery, seems just a little too far away. Kicking things off with their infamous opening ceremony – Dimensions’ opening party will start as it means for the rest of the festival to go on. It’s set to be a grand extravaganza, in a jaw-dropping venue (note their much talked about amputheatre), bursting with unmissable sonic action and a young crowd looking for serious fun. With artists such as Little Dragon, Boddika and Loefah providing the basis for what looks to be one of the pinnacle of 2015’s electronic music calendar – Dimensions’ have ensured that despite their electronic roots – there is something for everyone.

Although it seems pretty clear that Dimensions remains the festival for dance music devotees worldwide. Former cover stars to Circulation, Mount Kimbie, whose influences stretch from indie to hip-hop to electronica, are only one example of the assorted mix of this year’s musical offerings; proving that Dimensions are stretching out their wings this year to take on even further heights.

Dimensions is termed the sister festival to Outlook whose 4-day musical delights it precedes, and those who dare can still buy tickets for both at the same time, however it’s pretty clear that the festival is forging its own separately special brand of hedonistic electronic highs. Though they share a venue, they’re distinctly different in vibe, with acts like Ben Klock, Bicep and Horse Meat Disco providing the serious fun and funk that the darker, grimier side of Outlook lacks. With the likes of Hessle Audio, Daniel Avery and Objekt blessing their sound systems this summer, Dimensions is not only a visual and scenic, but a listening experience that once done will leave that undeniable pit in your stomach that won’t leave till you buy next year’s ticket.

Situated at the end of the festival season, Dimensions has been closing summers of fun since 2012 and every year since has got bigger, better and undeniably a lot more talked about. The beautiful fort Punta Christo provides a magical background for the festival, a chilled-out beach paradise by day and ethereal exposed ruins filled with EDM by night. With around 200 artists, 11 stages and an array of 30 boat parties to choose from – Dimensions provides everything you need, and far exceeds the scenery that our rolling English hills can offer. No hangover will seem too bleak whilst surrounded by the glittering Croatian sea and sunny vibes on the beach shore. Taking place from the August 26th to the 30th, if you miss it, you’re going to regret it.
