Hitting The Duchess in a little less than a weeks time is the hair-spinning, guitar-shredding, all round cool dude that is King Charles. After touring for the last two years with his debut album LOVEBLOOD, KC is back with a whole albums worth of new material. He’s now mid-way through his 28 days // 28 shows tour, but get hold of tickets soon as the Cambridge gig the day before has already sold out. And for you fans who’ve been with him from the beginning, don’t fret, their won’t be a shortage of classics to sing-a-long to.
Having toured with the likes of Noah & The Whale, Laura Marling, and Mumford & Sons, as well as featuring the Mumford boys in his tune The Brightest Lights, you may be tempted to file KC under the folk category (maybe it’s the beard), but you’d be mistaken. He’s a self confessed glam rocker, and although that may evoke the wrong response in many, that’s probably the best way to describe him. King Charles is probably the only person who can float so gracefully somewhere between glam-rock and folk… Not to mention his lyrical prowess and serious guitar shredding ability.
With support from Gallery Circus, who are a hard-hitting, powerful, rock-duo, best described as a mix of Jack White and Queens of the Stoneage this is set to be a seriously exciting show.
