Preview: Glass Caves
Headlining Fibbers this Friday is the increasingly impressive Glass Caves, York’s very own, who are fast making a name for themselves as quite the songsmiths. The band have done it the hard way. From busking in the city centre to playing Reading and Leeds festival and features on Radio 1 and 6Music. These are local lads, busking heroes, about to take their chance. Expect singalong anthems, and lots of them. They have even been described as ‘Kings of Leon covering the Police’ – imagine that if you can.
Rousing alternative rock, huge melodies, a mental drummer. You know the drill. Get down to Fibbers this Friday to see them action before their festival slots this Summer.
They have great support in Soho Riots as well. Formed in 2012, Soho Riots are arguably one of the most exciting new British guitar bands in the country. Made up of members from the mercurial House of Cards and fellow young musicians, the band’s precise melodies and harmonies have caught the ear of many and earned them a dedicated cult fan-base. With a wide ranging sound from Bombay Bicycle Club indie-pop through to Arctic Monkeys catchy alternative rock phrase, and stretching to the experimental side of Wild Beasts’ catalogue. Soho Riots have performed at numerous festivals and events over the past year picking up radio play in the process. Not one to miss, keep your eyes on Soho Riot as they start to crack the mainstream.
