25th February – Bangers & Mash and LOOP Present: Waze & Odyssey, Eliphino, Ossie – Tokyo
Bangers & Mash has very quickly become an institution in the York club scene, to the extent that they have outgrown their old home of Fibbers. They now move to the more expansive Tokyo and their world class Funktion One soundsystem and bring with them some exciting UK talent, including Hyperdub’s Ossie. Tickets are £6adv/£8otd

27th February – The Bronx – The Duchess
Critically acclaimed Los Angeles hardcore heroes The Bronx are out on tour in support of their new album, the imaginatively titled ‘The Bronx’. Which just so happens to be the name of their first three albums as well…. Tickets are £15adv/£17otd

27th February – Circulation Launch Party – Sotano
I’m sure you’ve picked up a copy of the latest issue of Circulation (if you haven’t been able to, we recently uploaded a copy to our website). To celebrate this landmark publication, we’re throwing a little party down at Sotano for you all. Scottish indie darlings Father Sculptor are providing the main musical entertainment whilst the night is being closed out by York’s very own Royce Rolls playing a special 90s Garage set. Not to be missed, and cheap at that. Tickets are a (very reasonable) £2.50

1st March – SHOKO Launch Night with Ben Pearce – Fibbers
Fibbers have decided to get in on the House craze that York is currently firmly in the grip of, launching their own regular night SHOKO. Nothing to be sniffy about their first booking though, as Ben Pearce was responsible for one the defining anthems of 2012, the infectious “What I Might Do”. Tickets are £8

2nd March – Freakin presents LUV*JAM – Mansion
As a whole host of fresh-faced House nights get their bearings in our fair walled city, the original one is still going strong in its 15th year. This month the Freakin boys welcome LUV*JAM to grace the decks. Tickets are £6

Hull

26th February – Richard Hawley – City Hall
As he nears 50, you’d imagine the Sheffield guitar icon Richard Hawley to be mellowing out a bit. That was not the case however on his standout album last year, ‘Standing at the Sky’s Edge’, which was his harshest effort to date and garnered him his second Mercury Prize nomination. Expect plenty of tracks from that, along with some highlights from his extensive back catalogue of course. Tickets are £22.00

Leeds

27th Februrary – Christopher Owens – Brudenell Social Club
I was going to write a lovely little thing about great Christopher Owens and his new album ‘Lysandre’ are, but he’s only gone and written it himself hasn’t he? Anyway, the former Girls frontman is a very pretty man who makes very pretty music. Tickets are £14

2nd March – Monocult 6th Birthday – Canal Mills
The erstwhile and innovative promoters monocult celebrate their 6th birthday by bringing Berlin heavyweights Dixon and Prosumer to Canal Mills, the latest warehouse space to open in Leeds. Joining them will be British rabble-rousers Scuba and Oneman. Tickets are £17
