Preview: ‘Keep the Home-Fires Burning’

Scratch beneath the surface of the York music scene and you’ll find a whole host of bands, jam nights and a tightly knit community of passionate and talented acoustic singer-songwriters. ‘Keep the Home-Fires Burning’ is a documentary made by York Acoustic, a local acoustic video session project based in York, exploring the acoustic side of York’s music scene.

The documentary, produced in conjunction with One&Other TV, seeks to focus on a handful of York’s singer-songwriters in the city as well as exploring the city’s other bands venues, acoustic night and festivals. The documentary will take to the streets of York and inside some well known, and less well known, music venues in the city such as: Attic Records, Melrose Yard Studios, The Inkwell, The Habit, Bison Coffee House, Mor Music, The Duchess and Fibbers.

Directed by former University of York student James Arden with York-based photographer Ben Bentley acting as Director of Photography, the film will truly be a Yorkshire born and bred project of why our city’s music scene is so special.
